MGS-Jan09Dr. Michael Santos an ophthalmologist whose practice includes general ophthalmology (which includes cataract surgery) with subspecialty work in retina and vitreous surgery.

Dr. Santos obtained his medical degree at the University of the Philippines Manila. He trained in ophthalmology at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital. He took clinical fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is certified by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Santos is affiliated with various hospitals and eye centers in Metro Manila and Pampanga. He is a member of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of various sub-specialty societies including the Vitreoretinal Society of the Philippines, the European Society of Retina Specialists, and the Philippine Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has delivered numerous scientific lectures and presentations at specialty society meetings and other events locally and internationally.

Dr. Santos is the former Chairman of Ophthalmology of the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center in Pampanga.
