Optimizing glaucoma eye drop application

1. Wash your hands.
2. Shake the bottle if needed.
3. Sit with your head tilted back or lie down.
4. Unscrew the medication cap carefully so that the tip does not come into contact with anything.
5. Pull down your lower lid.
6. Look up at the tip of the bottle (don't worry if it looks blurred). It may help if you close your other eye.
7. Take care not to touch the tip of the bottle to your eyelashes, eyelids, or anything else.
8. Squeeze the bottle gently so that only one drop comes out.
9. Make sure that you feel the drop enter your eye and that it did not land on your eyelid or cheek.
10. Close your eye/s and press on the inner corners of your eyes (where the tear ducts are located) for 5 minutes. This is very important, do not skip this step.
