About the EYE REPUBLIC Forum

The EYE REPUBLIC Forum is a web-based educational resource of the EYE REPUBLIC Ophthalmology Clinic in collaboration with the Ophthalmic Consultants Philippines Co.. Our mission is to educate patients, their family members and friends about eye diseases and to facilitate the exchange of information, emotional support, and mutual aid between members. We are also deeply committed to raising funds to support research into the causes and effective treatment of eye diseases.

Anyone with eye disease is welcome to participate. Registration is required.

Member Participation

Support is the premier mission of the EYE REPUBLIC Forum. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous, thoughtful manner. As well as adult participants, children read and post on the board. Please be mindful of this when posting.

Members are encouraged to be clear that they are relating a personal experience.

Medical advice is not given unless by a person with appropriate education.

It is never appropriate to name physicians or institutions, particularly if you have complaints about your past or current care. Members are encouraged to focus on the present and to use the group for support in moving on with their care.

We request that, whenever possible, a web reference be posted when citing scientific materials. If you do not know how to post a web reference (URL), the moderators will be pleased to assist you.

Advertising is not allowed on the board.

Prescription medications may not be advertised, sold, or exchanged through the website.

Members agree that they will not send unsolicited email to other members.

EYE REPUBLIC Forum is a privately held discussion board. By participating on the board you agree that your account may be terminated at any time if the owners believe that user conduct violates applicable law or is harmful to our interests or other users, or for any other reason at their sole discretion, with or without cause. Members will receive one warning about such concerns after review by the Membership Committee.
