Edgardo Ulysses Dorotheo, MD, DPBO, FPAO

Dr. Ulysses Dorotheo - Neuro-ophthalmology specialistDr. Ulysses Dorotheo is an ophthalmologist whose practice includes general ophthalmology (which includes cataract surgery) with subspecialty work in neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr. Dorotheo obtained his medical degree at the University of the Philippines Manila through the prestigious 7-year INTARMED program. He trained in ophthalmology at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital and went on to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas for fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology. He is certified by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Dorotheo is affiliated with various hospitals and eye centers in Metro Manila. He is a member of the Research Committee and the Committee on Continuing Education in Ophthalmology of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the sub-specialty societies, the Neuro-Ophthalmology Club of the Philippines, the Philippine Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. He has co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has delivered numerous scientific lectures and presentations locally and internationally.

Dr. Dorotheo is a staunch advocate for tobacco control and is the Program Manager of the FCTC Program of the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance, the ASEAN and Western Pacific Regional Coordinator for the Framework Convention Alliance for Tobacco Control (FCA), and the Senior Policy Adviser for the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control Alliance, Philippines (FCAP).
